As Peak grows, it is facing common challenges that products encounter when scaling rapidly such as inconsistent designs and a lack of visual focus. Therefore, a design system is necessary to address these issues and more. But a core issue faced during initial conversations about adopting a new design system is the multiple and varied technical/code environments Peak runs off. So while some popular open-source design systems might achieve the visual element of what Peak needed, there weren't any viable options that are designed for a platform as complex as Peak.
